LIG Nex1 prominently showcased unmanned submersibles at the International Maritime Defense Industry Exhibition (MADEX) that opened on the 28th.
LIG Nex1 unveiled for the first time the concept model of a combat unmanned submersible, Haegeum-X, on this day. While Haegeum was revealed in the morning, foreign military officials watched closely. Haegeum-X features a stealth design that minimizes detection range and is equipped with multifunctional radar. It is characterized by its installation of its own weapons systems, including a 20mm remote weapon system, guided rocket Hyunmoo, and lightweight torpedo Cheongsang-eo.
The reconnaissance unmanned surface vessel, which will be the first to be deployed by the Navy, and a 3D-printed suicide unmanned surface vessel were also displayed side by side. Once mass production of the suicide unmanned surface vessel begins, it is expected that cost reductions, mass production, and rapid manufacturing will be possible through 3D printing.
A representative from LIG Nex1 said, "We will support the realization of the manned and unmanned hybrid system that the Navy pursues through the capabilities our company showcased at MADEX 2025."
