Mercedes-Benz Korea Co., Ltd. officially launches the high-performance 2-door coupe 'Mercedes-AMG GT' second-generation fully revamped model 'The New Mercedes-AMG GT 55 4MATIC+'.
'Mercedes-AMG GT' is characterized by its powerful performance and stylish design, showcasing the essence of a top-tier sports car equipped with motorsport DNA, aimed at drivers seeking excellent and dynamic driving. Mercedes-Benz Korea first unveiled the second-generation GT at the '2025 Seoul Mobility Show' in April, 10 years after the domestic launch of the first-generation GT in 2015, raising anticipation among domestic high-performance car enthusiasts.
Mercedes-Benz Korea presents the second-generation GT in two models. The 'GT 55 4MATIC+' will start customer deliveries in June after its launch this month, and the high-performance PHEV model 'GT 63 S E Performance' is also expected to be released within the year.
The newly launched 'The New GT 55 4MATIC+' delivers impressive performance with a combination of a 4.0-liter V8 bi-turbo engine (M177) and AMG Speedshift MCT 9-speed transmission, producing a maximum output of 476 horsepower and a peak torque of 71.4 kgfm. Notably, the peak torque matches the level of the GT R model, which previously showcased the strongest performance in the first-generation GT lineup.
The engine has been improved over the transfer generation by applying various advanced technologies and materials derived from motorsport. The cylinders feature NANOSLIDE® coating technology, boasting excellent wear resistance, while the alloy material used in the cylinder head ensures stable engine performance even in extreme conditions with its superior thermal conductivity. Additionally, the two turbochargers are positioned between the V-type cylinder banks, enhancing responsiveness.
The vehicle is equipped with an AMG Active Ride Control suspension that enhances stability and agility, a rear axle steering system supporting up to 2.5 degrees of rear wheel steering, and AMG dynamic engine mounts that optimize the connection between the engine and chassis, presenting the appeal of a powerful and agile AMG racing car with the fully variable all-wheel drive AMG Performance 4MATIC+.
The exterior modernly reinterprets the proportions of a classic AMG sports car, showcasing a strong presence through a long hood, emphasized power dome, well-balanced silhouette, 21-inch AMG 10 twin-spoke forged wheels, and voluminous wheel arches. Yellow brake calipers with AMG lettering add to the intense image perceived from the side.
The interior is wider than the previous transfer generation and incorporates more features. It offers foldable 2+2 seating, and the trunk space can be expanded to a maximum of 675 liters, approximately twice as wide as the first generation. Additionally, the 11.9-inch LCD central display is now touch-sensitive, providing a more intuitive experience.
Moreover, to allow customers to personalize their vehicles according to their individuality, a total of 21 exterior paint options are available, including 16 MANUFAKTUR colors, along with 14 options for interior leather colors, including 10 MANUFAKTUR colors. The center console trim and roof lining can also be selected as MANUFAKTUR options.
In addition, the AMG Track Pace, which records and analyzes vehicle speed, steering angle, acceleration, and braking to assist in improving track driving skills, is standard equipment. The driving assistance package enhances driving convenience for the driver, while desirable options for domestic customers such as an AMG performance steering wheel made of Nappa leather, a panoramic roof, a head-up display, a Burmester® surround sound system, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are provided as standard.
Mercedes-Benz Korea presents the 'Mercedes-AMG GT 55 4MATIC+ Launch Edition,' limited to 10 units, to commemorate the launch of the second-generation fully revamped GT. With MANUFAKTUR Night Black Magno exterior paint and MANUFAKTUR Nappa leather in Crystal White/Black colors, contrasted with red safety belts, it creates a striking contrast. The center console features AMG aluminum trim and a micro-cut liner as interior elements. In addition, the vehicle is enhanced with the AMG aerodynamics package, including a fixed rear wing, and an AMG high-performance ceramic braking system for improved driving stability while highlighting the appeal of high-performance vehicles.
The price of 'The New GT 55 4MATIC+' is 205.6 million won, while the 'Mercedes-AMG GT 55 4MATIC+ Launch Edition' is priced at 236.6 million won.
Meanwhile, customers purchasing and receiving the New Mercedes-AMG GT 55 4MATIC+ this year will receive the benefit of driving education from professional instructors at Yongin AMG Speedway and experience the circuit.
