Mercedes-Benz Korea said it will release the high-performance 2-door coupe 'Mercedes-AMG GT's' second-generation complete redesign model 'The New Mercedes-AMG GT 55 4MATIC+' on the 27th.
The Mercedes-AMG GT is characterized by its dynamic driving performance and luxurious design. Mercedes-Benz Korea first unveiled the complete redesign model last April, ten years after the domestic release of the first-generation GT in 2015.
The newly launched second-generation GT will come in two models. The GT 55 4MATIC+ is set to be launched this month, with customer deliveries starting in June. The high-performance plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model, 'GT 63 SE Performance,' will also be introduced within this year.
The GT 55 4MATIC+ boasts a 4.0-liter V8 bi-turbo engine paired with the AMG Speedshift MCT 9-speed transmission, delivering a maximum output of 476 horsepower and a peak torque of 71.4 kgf·m. The maximum torque is at the same level as the GT R model in the first-generation GT lineup.
The vehicle is equipped with AMG Active Ride Control suspension, which enhances stability, and rear axle steering that supports up to 2.5 degrees of rear steering. Drivers can also check driving records through the AMG Track Pace, which analyzes vehicle speed, steering angle, and braking.
Its exterior features a long hood, balanced silhouette, and voluminous wheel arches, giving it the classic AMG sports car proportions. The interior offers folding 2+2 seats, and the trunk space has been expanded to nearly double that of the first generation, reaching up to 675 liters (L).
To allow customers to design vehicles to match their individuality, a total of 21 exterior paint options, including 16 Manufaktur (Mercedes' custom production program) colors, are available. The interior leather colors also offer a total of 14 options, including 10 Manufaktur colors.
To celebrate the launch of the second generation, Mercedes-Benz Korea will showcase the 'Mercedes-AMG GT 55 4MATIC+ Launch Edition' limited to 10 units. The price is 205.6 million won for the standard model and 236.66 million won for the launch edition.
