Mercedes-Benz has produced a one-of-a-kind vehicle for golf legend Bernhard Langer (67, Germany).
Mercedes-Benz recently announced that it presented a special customized S-Class to Bernhard Langer ahead of the prestigious Masters Tournament held in Augusta, Georgia, USA. Bernhard Langer, who has been associated with the brand for about 40 years as a Mercedes-Benz ambassador, retired from the Masters after this year's tournament.
The vehicle provided this time features personalized design options from the Mercedes-Benz 'Manufaktur' program. The vehicle is adorned with the Masters logo embroidered with over 2,800 stitches and Bernhard Langer's signature throughout. All work was carried out at the dedicated Manufaktur facility in the Mercedes-Benz Sindelfingen plant in Germany.
Manufaktur means craftsmanship, a service offered by Mercedes-Benz that allows customers to design their own vehicles. Customers can choose not only the exterior color of the vehicle but also the type of leather for the seats, the stitch styles for sewing the leather, and the materials for the dashboard.
Bettina Fetcher, vice president of communication and marketing at Mercedes-Benz, said, "Langer is a true golf icon and has played a significant role as a member of the Mercedes-Benz family for the past 40 years. We want to commemorate our deep bond through a customized S-Class that carries a respect for his career."
The Mercedes-Benz S-Class is a luxury flagship sedan that has sold over 4 million units worldwide since its first launch in 1951. Notably, it recorded a top-three ranking in imported vehicle sales in Korea in 2022, which is unusual for the highest-end vehicle. The currently sold S-Class is the seventh generation model.
