POSCO Holdings announced on the 26th that it will hold an industrial artificial intelligence (AI)-robot competition called the POSCO Industrial AI-Robot Challenge for university students.
In the competition, participants will carry out tasks that implement the core business areas of the POSCO Group, including steel and energy materials, using AI-based robotic systems. POSCO Holdings is striving to realize an Intelligent Factory that encompasses order, production, and shipment through the integration of industrial AI and robotic technology.
The competition includes two categories: the quadruped robot autonomous walking challenge and the articulated robotic arm collaboration challenge. Participants will use the robots provided by the organizers to complete missions.
Any domestic or international university or graduate student can participate. Applications can be made on the POSCO Holdings website until June 30. Teams that advance to the finals through preliminary evaluations will compete in the finals on Sept. 9.
The total prize money for the competition is 37 million won. Award-winning teams will also receive the benefit of additional points when applying for recruitment at POSCO DX.
