Korean Air announced on the 20th that it has launched a physical gift card in collaboration with GS Retail.
The Korean Air gift card is an online voucher that can be used like cash on the Korean-language website and mobile application.
Previously, the Korean Air gift card could only be purchased online, but it is now available in physical form in offline stores.
The physical gift card will be sold at approximately 1,000 stores in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province operated by GS Retail's convenience store GS25.
It is a prepaid POSA (Point of Sales Activation) card that can be charged with amounts ranging from 30,000 won to 300,000 won, which can be used after registering the card number and PIN on the Korean Air website.
Korean Air will also introduce a general card design for physical gift cards that corporations can purchase in bulk.
In addition, to celebrate the launch of the physical card, a sales event will be held until June 20, where customers who purchase gift cards worth 500,000 won or more will be entered into a drawing for airline tickets to Japan and Southeast Asia.
A Korean Air official noted, "I hope the Korean Air gift card will make it easier to gift to loved ones and enhance the excitement of travel."
