On the 9th, LG AI Research Institute announced that it has completed the transfer of its headquarters to the D&O building located in Magok District, Seoul, where LG Science Park is situated. The new headquarters occupies the 3rd to 7th floors of the D&O building, with over 50 meeting spaces created to facilitate free collaboration among researchers.
Since its launch in December 2020, LG AI Research Institute has grown into a key organization leading LG's artificial intelligence (AI) innovation. In December 2021, it introduced 'EXAONE 1.0,' the largest AI model in the country, and in March of this year, it unveiled 'EXAONE Deep,' the first inference AI in Korea.
The corporate AI agent 'ChatEXAONE,' launched by LG AI Research Institute in December last year, has over 40,000 members, nearly half of LG's domestic office workers, who are utilizing it for their work. Additionally, it is training more than 15,000 employees and playing a role in fostering AI talent within the LG Group.
An official from LG AI Research Institute noted, "With the transfer of the headquarters, it is expected that more than 300 researchers, who were scattered across locations such as Yeouido and Magok, will gather in one place to create research and development synergies."
