Stuttgart. Porsche AG (Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG) unveiled the third model, '911 Spirit 70,' created as part of its heritage design strategy, at the 2025 Shanghai Motor Show on the 23rd. The 911 Spirit 70, featuring an exclusive olive neo color, graphic decorations inspired by heritage models, and the legendary Pascha pattern interior, is a convertible model limited to 1,500 units worldwide, capturing the spirit of the 1970s and early 1980s.
The 911 Spirit 70 is based on the hybrid system of the current 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet and delivers a maximum system output of 541 horsepower (PS) and a maximum torque of 62.2 kgm with its new PDK, equipped with an electric turbocharger and electric motor, along with a newly developed 3.6-liter boxer engine.
Michael Mauer, vice president of Porsche's style division, noted that the heritage design model occupies a special position in Porsche's product strategy from a design perspective, stating, "It reinterprets historical design elements into a modern sports car, showcasing the brand's identity." Alexander Fabig, head of personalization and classic division at Porsche AG, added, "The previous two models revived past lifestyles and received great responses. We expect this third limited edition model to attract high popularity among global customers."
Porsche's designers and painting specialists developed the exclusive olive neo color with a rich and deep green tone specifically for the 911 Spirit 70, which contrasts harmoniously with the gray-gold Bronzite color applied to the rear lower section and front hooks (Fuchs) design sports classic wheels. Black color is applied to the soft top and front windshield frame, emphasizing the car's unique presence.
The three black deco stripes with a silk gloss finish applied on the hood were inspired by safety stickers from the 1970s. At that time, sports car drivers applied vertical stripes to their bodies so that their vehicles would be more visible in rear-view mirrors while driving on highways or racetracks. The stripes on the 911 Spirit 70 continue in a tone-on-tone design up to the soft top. The Porsche lettering in silk gloss black color, along with the circular start number field known as 'Lollipop' and the side deco graphics featuring the individual start number, reflect the brand's racing heritage.
The contrast of tradition and innovation can also be seen at the center of the hood. The Porsche crest, nearly identical to the historical crest from 1963, is affixed. A gold-colored Porsche Exclusive Manufacture badge is located on the front fender, while a Porsche heritage badge is positioned on the grill of the trunk lid. The heritage badge evokes the Porsche 356 badge awarded for achieving 100,000 km in the 1950s. Additionally, the zinc-plated Porsche lettering and model name at the rear boast a special gloss.
The 911 Spirit 70 reflects Porsche's evolved corporate strategy. Expanding customer personalization options, Porsche currently offers over 1,000 Porsche Exclusive Manufacture options, and sales of vehicles with Exclusive Manufacture options have doubled in the past five years. Additionally, Turbonite, the crest color exclusive to turbo models, will be applied to all high-performance models in future series.
The highlight of the interior is the iconic Pascha fabric pattern, harmonizing black color and olive neo color. The graphic design of the fabric evokes the image of fluttering checkered flags. Rectangles of various sizes are intricately arranged to create movement within the pattern. The 911 Spirit 70 utilizes a material combining flocked fabric instead of the Jacquard velour used in previous models, providing a sportier feel, enhanced touch, and exceptional comfort for long-distance driving.
The Pascha pattern is applied to the center panel of the 18-direction sports seat plus, door mirrors, and even the inside of the glove box, with deco inlays on the seat backs and dashboard trim available as options. The standard specifications also include a reversible trunk mat with the Pascha pattern. The elegant basalt black color club leather trim features decorative stitches in olive neo color, while a basalt black club leather interior package is also provided as standard.
The dashboard cleverly combines traditional design with cutting-edge technology. The high-resolution 12.65-inch display shows an analog-style white pointer and graduation lines, with green numbers reminiscent of the legendary 356. Model lettering is elegantly integrated into the fully digitized tachometer. The sport chrono stopwatch is also offered in a special version featuring white-colored hands and green-colored numbers.
The 911 Spirit 70 is limited to 1,500 units worldwide, with a sale price starting at €240,000, including VAT and country-specific base specifications. Deliveries in the domestic market are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of this year, with a sale price of 326 million won.
