The Ministry of SMEs and Startups noted on the 18th that it supported the participation of 156 small and medium-sized enterprises at the 23rd World Korean Business Convention.
The World Korean Business Convention is an event held annually by the Korea Overseas Community Agency, featuring participation from overseas Korean businesses and domestic corporations in a global business convention. This year's event will be held in the state of Georgia, USA, from April 17th to 20th (local time).
The corporate exhibition held during the convention will be attended by over 350 corporations and more than 500 buyers. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups selected 156 small and medium-sized enterprises with global competitiveness in the beauty, food, and medical device sectors to support product promotion and exhibition, as well as corporate promotion booths.
Minister Oh Youngju attended the opening of the corporate exhibition on the 17th and visited the booths of small businesses and medium-sized enterprises participating in the exhibition, encouraging them. At a welcome reception hosted by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), she met with Kelly Loeffler, the head of the SBA, and urged support and interest for Korean corporations that have entered the U.S. market.
Minister Oh attended the opening ceremony and welcome dinner of the convention, which was attended by key figures from both Korea and the United States, and read a speech on behalf of Acting President Han Duck-soo.
Acting President Han noted in his speech, "If production and consumption, investment and labor mobility, and supply chain construction are actively achieved, as the slogan of this convention, 'Leap into the Han-Sang Economic Zone' indicates, the horizon of the South Korean economy will expand further," adding that "the government will spare no policy or institutional support to assist export businesses."
