Hyundai Motor Group has taken steps to support small and medium-sized suppliers facing increasing difficulties due to rapid changes in the export environment by exploring new markets and diversifying sales channels.
Hyundai Motor Group jointly participated in the largest mobility technology exhibition in North America, 'WCX (World Congress Experience) 2025,' held at Huntington Place in Detroit, Michigan, from the 8th to the 10th (local time) with 24 small parts suppliers.
Hyundai Motor Group established the 'Hyundai Motor Group Partners' at WCX, setting up individual exhibition booths for each supplier to display new technologies and products and support smooth consultations with global buyers.
Twenty-four companies, including Dongil Machinery Industry (power steering gearbox), Sain I&D (washers, bus bars), Seongwon PF (sunroof brackets), Kwangseong Steel Pipe Industry (drawn pipes), and Seongrim Advanced Industries (permanent magnets), participated in the Hyundai Motor Group Partners pavilion. During the exhibition, export consultation results reached $94 million with 84 major corporations from countries including the U.S., Japan, Germany, and Saudi Arabia.
Some suppliers received quotation requests and discussed specific contract schedules for the future.
Small parts suppliers expanded their business activities through direct networking with global final automobile companies and large component manufacturers in the Hyundai Motor Group exhibition hall, engaging in various business activities, including export consultations, proposals for new business partnerships, and technology exchanges. Suppliers report that the operation of this joint exhibition hall positively influenced export consultations by naturally recognizing them as Hyundai Motor Group partner companies by global buyers.
In addition to supporting the operation of the exhibition hall, Hyundai Motor Group also organized a special seminar to share strategies and know-how for small parts suppliers to develop overseas sales channels and exports, ensuring that consultations conducted on-site could lead to actual contracts.
Following the U.S. WCX, Hyundai Motor Group plans to jointly participate with small parts suppliers in global parts exhibitions held in India, Japan, and Germany.
A representative from Hyundai Motor Group noted, "Small parts suppliers, despite having excellent technology and manufacturing competitiveness, face many difficulties in developing overseas sales channels due to relatively insufficient information and networks. We will continue to hold joint overseas marketing events that allow small parts suppliers to actively leverage their credibility as Hyundai Motor Group partner companies." Meanwhile, WCX is the largest mobility technology exhibition in North America organized by SAE International, gathering companies related to automobiles, including finished automobile manufacturers, parts and technology companies, mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, and researchers to collaborate on business as well as acquire and share the latest technology trends and information. Over 100 companies, including GM, Ford, and Stellantis, participated in this year's event.
