BYD Korea announced on the 14th that it has begun deliveries of the Atto 3, its first passenger model, a small electric sports utility vehicle (SUV).
Launched on Jan. 16 this year, the Atto 3's delivery schedule was delayed compared to the initial plan as the Ministry of Environment's subsidies evaluation and other procedures were completed earlier this month.
The Atto 3 has a starting price of 31 million won for the base trim, while the higher trim (Atto 3 Plus) is priced in the 33 million won range. With a subsidy of 1.45 million won from the national government, the vehicle can be purchased in the late 20 million won range when local government subsidies are added.
BYD Korea provides Atto 3 after-service (AS) at official service centers that have opened in 12 major cities nationwide. The company plans to expand the number of service centers to more than 25 by the end of the year.
Jo In-cheol, representative of the passenger institutional sector at BYD Korea, noted that the brand will do its best to expand its presence among domestic consumers and grow the domestic electric vehicle market.
