BMW Korea (CEO Han Sang-yun) will officially launch the premium all-electric Gran Coupe 'New i4 eDrive40' in the country. This is the very model that was first unveiled in Korea at the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show. The car is equipped with BMW OS 8.5, providing more intuitive controls and an enhanced digital experience.
The New i4 features the first midsize all-electric Gran Coupe from a premium brand, showcasing BMW's unique dynamic driving performance and the elegant design of a four-door coupe, along with space utilization that perfectly supports long-distance travel. The newly introduced i4 is a refreshed model that integrates new design elements in both its interior and exterior, enhancing its sporty appeal and luxurious feel while improving user convenience.
The New i4 will be launched in Korea in two trims: i4 eDrive40 M Sport and i4 eDrive40 M Sport Pro.
The front of the New i4 eDrive40 features adaptive LED headlights with a new vertical daytime running light design and a stylish diamond-patterned BMW kidney grille, harmonizing with the vertical air curtains on either side of the front bumper to project an even more powerful presence. The rear boasts laser rear lights with intricate, three-dimensional graphics, enhancing the sporty feel.
The interior incorporates an M leather steering wheel with a D-cut style and illuminated air vents with subtle indirect lighting, creating a luxurious atmosphere.
The infotainment system of the New i4 eDrive40 is equipped with the BMW Operating System 8.5 as standard, providing a more intuitive and convenient digital experience. It supports 'QuickSelect,' allowing function control without navigating sub-menus, and frequently used functions can be easily configured in the menu bar at the bottom of the control display. Additionally, users can easily access desired menus by scrolling live widgets horizontally and vertically.
The New i4 eDrive40 features BMW's fifth-generation electrified powertrain system, offering both powerful driving performance and outstanding efficiency. It delivers a maximum output of 340 horsepower and a peak torque of 43.8 kg·m through a single electric motor mounted on the rear axle, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds.
Its fuel efficiency is rated at a combined standard of 4.5 kWh/km, with a range of 420 km on a single charge. The capacity of the high-voltage battery is 84 kWh, and fast charging from 10% to 80% takes approximately 30 minutes.
The New i4 eDrive40 comes standard with the brand's top-tier advanced driver assistance system, Driving Assistant Professional. This system includes active cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, front and rear approach and collision warnings that detect pedestrians and cyclists, lane departure prevention, and lane keeping assist features.
For the parking assistance system, the New i4 eDrive40 M Sport comes with the standard package, while the higher trim, the New i4 eDrive40 M Sport Pro, includes the Plus package. The standard package features a parking assistance assistant and a reversing assistant, while the Plus package adds surround view and 3D view capabilities that allow for a 360-degree view around the vehicle.
All models of the New i4 eDrive40 come equipped with M Sport brakes and 19-inch wheels, while the interior offers sporty seats and a 3-zone air conditioning system, providing a comfortable driving experience for passengers.
The New i4 eDrive40 M Sport Pro includes an adaptive M suspension that adjusts damping force based on the driving mode and situation, red brake calipers, shadow line headlights, and a rear spoiler, while the interior enhances luxury with a Harman Kardon surround system, M seat belts, and rear seat heating.
The selling price of the New i4 eDrive40 is 78.3 million won for the New i4 eDrive40 M Sport and 84.5 million won for the New i4 eDrive40 M Sport Pro (including value-added tax and applying a 3.5% individual consumption tax).
