On Dec. 3, BYD Korea unveiled the BYD Seal at the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show media day held at the Ilsan KINTEX Exhibition Center.
The BYD Seal, which is the second model to be introduced in Korea by BYD, is a performance mid-size electric sedan that showcases the brand's new value, boasting sporty design, robust driving performance, and intelligent high-tech DNA.
The BYD Seal features a low body, aerodynamic styling, and a fastback design, achieving a smooth and solid coupe-like appearance overall. A drag coefficient of 0.219 clearly demonstrates the innovative aerodynamic design of the BYD Seal.
Inspired by 'the aesthetics of the sea,' the vehicle design presents a futuristic and elegant appearance that gives the car a definitive presence. The interior design captures a sporty yet luxurious atmosphere throughout. The D-cut steering wheel and integrated headrest seats provide a sporty feel, while seats made of natural Napa leather, a crystal gear lever designed with inspiration from raindrops, and subtle ambient lighting enhance the luxury of the interior space.
The most significant feature of the BYD Seal is the introduction of innovative technology. For the first time in the BYD electric vehicle lineup, the Cell-to-Body (CTB) technology has been applied, elevating the performance of e-platform 3.0 to a new level. The key aspect of CTB technology lies in its innovative structure that fully integrates the battery pack's top cover with the vehicle's floor. This technology enables the battery to function not just as an energy source but also as a structural element, effectively dispersing impacts and greatly enhancing collision safety. Additionally, it offers outstanding torsional rigidity of 40,500 N•m/degree, significantly improving vehicle safety and driving performance.
Using the 82.56 kWh BYD LFP blade battery, the vehicle can travel up to 520 km on a single charge (based on WLTP) and supports rapid DC charging of up to 150 kW, allowing for charging from 20% to 80% in about 30 minutes.
In the case of the BYD Seal AWD equipped with dual motors, the Intelligent Torque Adaptation Control (iTAC) system has also been applied. iTAC minimizes phenomena such as wheel slip and understeer through various control methods such as torque switching and reverse torque output, adjusting the torque output of the driving motors instantaneously to maintain optimal driving posture, thereby maximizing the vehicle's driving performance. The powertrain consists of two motors with different performances: 160 kW at the front and 230 kW at the rear, boasting a powerful performance of up to 390 kW (530 PS), and it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds.
Safety is a top priority for BYD, and the BYD Seal also prioritizes safety as a core value. It boasts the highest level of safety with the blade battery, e-platform 3.0 that disperses external impacts during collisions, the CTB technology that integrates the battery into the body, and a total of nine airbags, ensuring exceptional safety.
Various safety and advanced driving assistance features using radar and a front camera, such as front and rear cross-traffic warnings and exit warning, are also provided as standard. Additionally, a variety of convenience specifications enhancing the integration and convenience between the driver and the vehicle are also offered, including T Map navigation, cloud-based wireless software updates (OTA), voice recognition, a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen, a performance audio system with 12 speakers from the Danish premium audio brand Dynaudio, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, and a heads-up display (HUD).
The BYD Seal is configured into two trims, RWD (rear-wheel drive) and AWD (all-wheel drive), depending on the powertrain of motor types and drive methods, as well as convenience specifications like electronic child locks. The sales price is expected to be set between 47.5 million won and 52.5 million won (price after environmental-friendly car tax benefits, excluding subsidies). The vehicle delivery timing and final vehicle price will be finalized after certification is complete, and after the electric vehicle subsidy calculation and registration of the environmental-friendly vehicle list are completed.

With its elegant design, sporty performance, and premium-grade interior, the BYD Seal will serve as an image maker for strengthening the brand."
At the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show, BYD Korea exhibited a total of eight major models from the BYD brand, including BYD Atto 3, Seal, Sea Lion 7, Yang Wang U8, U9, Denza D9, Z9GT, and Formula BAO 5, themed "BYD Tech Wave," showcasing BYD's direction to navigate the waves of profound change brought about by climate change through technological innovation. In addition, various events for visitors, such as driving experiences of the BYD Atto 3, a karaoke event with BYD Han So-jeol, an SNS follow event, and demonstrations of the Yang Wang brand technology performance, will also be held.
