Hyundai Motor unveiled the design of the Ioniq 6's facelift model, 'The New Ioniq 6' and 'The New Ioniq 6 N Line,' at the press conference of the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show.
The Ioniq 6 concept, called 'Electricfied Streamliner,' is ready to greet visitors with a more refined appearance. The 2025 Seoul Mobility Show concluded its press conference on April 3 and will be open to visitors from April 4 to 13 at KINTEX in Ilsanseo-gu, Goyang.
The New Ioniq 6 is a facelift model of the Ioniq 6 launched in September 2022, inheriting the 'Electricfied Streamliner' concept, a new design type for Hyundai Motor's electrification era, while also featuring a more attractive curve and beautiful proportion, maximizing a sleek image with its silhouette.
Simon Rosby, the head of the Hyundai Design Center, introduced the design of The New Ioniq 6, noting, "The Ioniq 6 started as an 'Electricfied Streamliner' and has now expanded into a model lineup with distinct personalities," and added, "Under the evolved design concept of 'Pure Flow, Refined,' we have refined the design details of the Ioniq 6 in a more sophisticated and progressive direction."
The Ioniq 6 focused on connecting the body flow more delicately and naturally based on the evolved concept of 'Pure Flow, Refined.'
To achieve this, Hyundai Motor raised the starting point of the front hood of The New Ioniq 6 and improved the existing hood into a long hood with a shark nose shape reminiscent of a shark's snout, creating an impression as if cutting through the air while speeding. They also removed the existing protruding spoiler and extended the ducktail spoiler to maintain aerodynamic performance while completing a sleek side contour.
The headlamps, moving away from the existing integrated design, have been redesigned with sleek daytime running lights and main lamps, creating a fresh and futuristic image, while the elongated black garnish at the bottom of the door gives the body a remarkably slender feel.
The New Ioniq 6 N Line, unveiled together, enhances the sporty feel by inheriting the design DNA of the 'RN22e,' which was revealed in 2022. The bumper design, reminiscent of wings, transforms the impression of The New Ioniq 6 N Line to be more sporty and aggressive, and the emphasized side sill, draped with a single line, visually lowers the stance.
The interior design of The New Ioniq 6 maintains the 'Mindful Cocoon' concept, focusing on a more comfortable and intuitive user experience.
The arrangement of the center console components has been refined to enhance usability and convenience. In addition, the material of the door trim has adopted the In-Mold Grain (IMG) method, used in the production of high-end interior materials, to elevate the luxury feel. The IMG method is a technology that attaches an embossed skin to the surface of a molded item produced by vacuum forming, mainly utilized in the production of high-end interior materials.
On this day, Hyundai Motor surprised attendees by unveiling a teaser for the 'Ioniq 6 N' during the Seoul Mobility Show presentation session, hinting at the birth of a true high-performance sedan electric vehicle, and revealed the physical prototype of the Insteroid for the first time on the 1st.
The Insteroid is a concept car created by Hyundai Motor's European Design Center and a small SUeV, 'Instar (domestic name Casper Electric),' that leads Hyundai's electrification transition, reflecting unique designs inspired by games and various fun elements.
Hyundai Motor aims to showcase the potential for the development of the Instar through the Insteroid and convey its sincerity to the public in leading a creative and innovative challenge for a new electrified mobility environment.
Jose Munoz, president of Hyundai Motor, stated during the announcement, "We will continue to innovate future mobility based on Hyundai Motor's DNA," and expressed aspirations to lead the electrification era with high-quality products and a customer-centered product lineup.
Hyundai Motor prepared the largest exhibition space of 2,600 square meters (approximately 787 pyeong) among participating brands at this year's Seoul Mobility Show, organizing a variety of exhibitions and experiential content under the two major themes of hydrogen vision and electrification, allowing visitors to easily experience hydrogen and enjoy electric vehicles.
