The Kia Tasman is an 'open model' in the South Korean automotive industry. From the perspective of popularization, it is a model that has just begun to take its first steps. For this reason, its potential for expansion can be seen as significantly greater.

Kia unveiled a model that demonstrates the Tasman's infinite expansion potential during the media day of the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show. It is the WKNDR concept model of 'The Kia Tasman' (hereinafter referred to as Tasman). The WKNDR seems to aspire to become an icon of the Tasman.

The 'Tasman WKNDR', which appeared at the Kia exhibition hall at KINTEX in Ilsan, is a tailored mobility concept designed with the user's outdoor lifestyle in mind.

Basically, the Tasman is a true pickup that combines a bold size with a robust image and functional elements, equipped with stable off-road and on-road driving capabilities, a spacious interior and cargo area secured through optimal second-row design, and an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS).

In addition, the Tasman WKNDR strengthened its 'capable' image for customers who enjoy outdoor activities, based on the existing forms and performance of the Tasman, showcasing outstanding performance in any driving environment. Features include 35-inch tires optimized for rough terrain, body-color overfenders that cover the tires, and multi-rails that can accommodate action cameras, lanterns, etc., providing optimal solutions for customers who enjoy 'overlanding'.

Moreover, the Tasman WKNDR increased customer convenience by adding storage spaces such as a roof basket and a multi-tool box for customers enjoying winter sports like glacier tours and skiing, based on the 'ARCTIC' concept.

At this motor show, Kia not only exhibited the WKNDR concept car in the Tasman zone, which embodies off-road driving environments such as mountainous terrain, but also displayed the basic Tasman model and the 'X-Pro' model specialized for off-road driving.

The X-Pro model has a minimum ground clearance of 252mm, which is 28mm higher than the basic model, making it more advantageous for driving on rugged terrain. It is equipped with all-terrain tires, a feature called 'X-TREK' that maintains low-speed driving as required by the driver through engine torque and brake hydraulic control, and a terrain mode 'Rock' specialized for mountainous terrain, which provides excellent off-road driving performance.

In the 'Kia Shop' within the exhibition hall, customized genuine products such as side steps and off-road style wheels (exclusive to the X-Pro model), as well as a 1:10 scale model equipped with Kia Tasman collection products, were displayed, allowing visitors to experience the diverse potential and capabilities of the Tasman.
