The inclement weather had been forecast. However, even the prediction of sleet falling like heavy snow could not dampen their passion for 'Honda Day.'
On March 29, when the '2025 Honda Day at Motor Arena' event was held, the Bellfore Moto Arena in Chungbuk Jeungpyeong was filled with the excitement of motorcycle enthusiasts. The inclement weather was so unpleasant that it left everyone astonished.
Around 10 a.m., in anticipation of the event's opening, colorful bikes began to flock in from all corners of the country. In typical outdoor event venues, parking instructions for cars take precedence. However, 'Honda Day' was different. The key was to stagger the entry times for parking spaces to avoid a rush of participants arriving on their motorcycles all at once.
Order was part of their life. They calmly waited in line from the entrance and gradually filled the spacious Bellfore Moto Arena. It did not take long. The parking area of the Bellfore Moto Arena had transformed into a massive bike exhibition.
The number of participants at the event reached 1,500. There were participants who came from Busan, as well as those who traveled from far-off Japan on their bikes.
As soon as the event's pre-registration window opened, 1,300 people rushed in, closing it early, and about 200 people visited the site without prior registration. Most of these were individual motorcycle riders, so it can be inferred that the vast parking lot was filled with at least 1,300 bikes.
Given that the event's organizer is Honda Korea, participation from Honda owners was particularly high, with the organizer identifying more than 800 Honda owners.
'Honda Day' is a customer event organized by Honda Korea, held in major cities nationwide, aimed at sharing and enhancing communication around a fun lifestyle with Honda.
Starting in 2022 in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province, it has been held successfully in various locations, including Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, Gyeongju, and Sangju. Notably, the '2024 Honda Day at Gyeocheonseom' held last October saw more than 1,200 participants, becoming a representative domestic customer engagement event for Honda.
The '2025 Honda Day at Motor Arena' held in Jeungpyeong, Chungbuk, adopted a unique concept of a 'bazaar' (a gathering of bikes and cars), unlike previous events. It invited customers of both Honda motorcycles and cars to share and enjoy their passion together.
However, the '2025 Honda Day at Motor Arena' was plagued by inclement weather. As noon approached, the snowfall intensified and soon turned into sleet, making it impossible to continue the outdoor event. Participants had to quickly move indoors to escape the cold and snowstorm.
The snowstorm began to wane after 2 p.m., and soon the clouds cleared, allowing sunlight to shine through. While some participants left early due to the miserable weather, those who endured were finally able to enjoy the true essence of the festival.
Honda Korea made a generous decision to donate all the proceeds from the event to society, seemingly in return for the participants' passion.
They raised 100 million won by adding extra funds to the total registration fees for the '2025 Honda Day at Motor Arena.' This fund was donated to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association to support recovery efforts from the recent massive wildfires in the Gyeongsang region and to aid the affected local residents. The funds will be used for restoring the wildfire damage, providing emergency relief to victims, supplying daily necessities, and supporting recovery activities.
Lee Ji-hong, CEO of Honda Korea, noted, "Due to the inclement weather, the event did not proceed smoothly, but the passion of domestic motorcycle enthusiasts shone brighter than at any other event. We decided to gather their passion and send our heartfelt condolences to those affected by the wildfires in the Gyeongsang region. We hope the affected areas recover quickly."
