The Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KGCCI) announced on the 31st that it has appointed Marie Antonia von Scheneburg, former representative of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Sri Lanka, as the new representative.
The new representative von Scheneburg, originally from Stuttgart, Germany, is an expert who has accumulated over 20 years of experience in international business, corporate relations, and chamber operations. She studied business administration at the University of Passau in Germany and international marketing at University College Dublin in Ireland.

The new representative von Scheneburg has contributed to enhancing economic cooperation between Germany and local corporations as she served as head of corporate relations and deputy director at the German Chamber of Commerce in Spain in 2000, head of the Barcelona branch in 2011, and representative of the German Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka in 2022.
The new representative von Scheneburg noted, “The Korean-German Chamber of Commerce plays a crucial role in acting as a bridge between Korean and German corporations, promoting economic cooperation and innovation. I will work with member companies and partners to create new opportunities and further strengthen our influence in both countries’ markets.”
Founded in 1981, the Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the second largest among foreign chambers of commerce in Korea, following the U.S., with over 500 member companies. The parent organization, the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry, consists of 79 regional chambers in Germany and has about 3.6 million member companies.
