McLaren Automotive, a British supercar manufacturer, will hold the 'Celebrate LT' event to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the McLaren LT (Long Tail) model launch.
As the name long tail (LT) indicates, it refers to a model that literally extends the silhouette of the vehicle compared to its predecessors. The improvement in downforce due to the elongated spoiler showcases a further upgraded performance.
Since unveiling the first LT model at the Geneva International Motor Show in March 2015, McLaren has launched a total of 6 models to date.
The first LT model launched by McLaren is the 675LT. This model is inspired by the McLaren F1 GTR 'Long Tail,' which won its class at the 1997 Le Mans 24-hour endurance race, and it is a limited edition coupe built on the foundation of the McLaren 650S supercar. Thus, the 675LT is considered a condensation of 6 core elements that constitute the McLaren LT philosophy, including perfect communication with the driver, track-focused dynamics, lightweight body, optimized aerodynamics, powerful performance, and rarity.
Subsequently, McLaren introduced a total of five models, including coupes and convertibles, such as the 600LT and 765LT.
The most recently launched model is the 765LT Spider, revealed in 2021. This limited production model, inheriting McLaren's racing lineage, has left a deep impression on the supercar industry with its overwhelming performance, and it is recognized for its rarity and high collectible value.
The 10th anniversary celebration event of the LT, 'Celebrate LT,' is designed specifically for McLaren enthusiasts who strongly support McLaren's identity and racing spirit.
The detailed program includes LT-specific content utilizing LT models that McLaren holds in its heritage vehicles. McLaren intends to prioritize unveiling this content to owners.
Additionally, a variety of events celebrating the 10th anniversary will be prepared throughout 2025, including a premium ownership experience program hosted by McLaren retailers worldwide, which encompasses owner and fan invitation events as well as owner driving events, along with exhibitions and viewings of six iconic LT models featuring the long tail badge.
Henrik Wilhelmsmeyer, Chief Commercial Officer of McLaren Automotive, noted, 'Over the past 10 years, the LT versions have embodied the essence of McLaren, that is, achieving uncompromising performance in reality. The LT has provided thrilling driving experiences with weight reduction, aerodynamics, and powerful performance beyond limits, becoming synonymous with pure performance rather than just a model name for McLaren fans.'
