
Hanwha System announced on the 31st that it has signed a defense supply contract with Hanwha Aerospace valued at 250 billion won.
According to the Financial Supervisory Service, Hanwha System has signed a contract for the purchase of 'K21 infantry fighting vehicles phase 4 production items' valued at 157.9 billion won and a contract for the construction of a 'Boeun MCS automated factory system' valued at 96.7 billion won.
The K21 infantry fighting vehicles phase 4 production purchase contract includes the supply of equipment such as a fire control system, sight, and identification friend or foe by Hanwha System for the phase 4 production quantity of the K21 vehicles produced by Hanwha Aerospace by September 2028. The K21 infantry fighting vehicle was developed to replace the existing K200A1 armored vehicles of the Republic of Korea Army. The first phase of production began in 2009.
The Boeun MCS automated factory system construction contract is part of a smart factory project to automate and intelligence the production process at a new factory being built by Hanwha Aerospace in Boeun, Chungbuk Province. The new factory is expected to produce 'modular launch (MCS)' developed by Hanwha Aerospace aimed at exports to Europe.
