HANMI Semiconductor announced in a public notice on the 31st that it expects first-quarter sales of 140 billion won and operating profit of 68.6 billion won. This represents an 81% increase in sales and a 139% increase in operating profit compared to the first quarter of last year.
HANMI Semiconductor stated that overseas customers accounted for 90% of its first-quarter sales. The company explained that the proportion of sales from overseas customers has increased significantly, particularly due to a surge in orders from global corporations, including North American memory companies producing high-bandwidth memory (HBM), since last year.
A representative of HANMI Semiconductor noted, "As demand for HBM surges, major overseas customers are increasing their orders for TC bonders (thermal compression bonding equipment) while expanding their production capacity (CAPA). We plan to launch new products in the second half of the year to continue solid performance."
HANMI Semiconductor is the world’s leading firm in the TC bonder sector for HBM production, supplying products to SK hynix, Micron, and others. To date, it has filed for over 120 patents related to HBM equipment.
