LOTTE Energy Materials announced on the 27th that it is pursuing Copper Mark certification, the responsible purchasing certification system of the International Copper Association (ICA), for its factory in Malaysia.
Copper Mark is the only global Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) certification system in the copper industry. It is granted to corporations that protect the environment and human rights while complying with ethical management and supporting local communities throughout the entire process from ore mining to product production and sales.
The goal is to secure reliability as a battery materials company through Copper Mark certification and establish strong business relationships with global clients. The factory in Malaysia is receiving positive responses from clients emphasizing ESG management by utilizing hydropower, one of the renewable energy sources.
Kim Yeon-seop, CEO of LOTTE Energy Materials, said, "We will push forward activities to achieve sustainable management, such as building a responsible supply chain and transitioning to eco-friendly energy, to enhance the global competitiveness of our company and clients."
