Hankook & Company Group's tire corporation Hankook Tire & Technology (CEOs Ahn Jong-seon and Lee Sang-hoon, hereafter Hankook Tire) held its regular shareholders' meeting and board of directors on March 26 at its headquarters 'Technoplex' located in Pangyo, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, and resolved to appoint Ahn Jong-seon and Lee Sang-hoon as inside directors and new co-CEOs.
Hankook Tire decided to maximize management efficiency based on strategic decisions aimed at sustainable growth and responsible management, as well as improving revenue, centered around the two co-CEOs, who possess expertise in their respective fields. It will strengthen management innovation to expand premium market share and enhance brand value to lead the global future mobility market.
New CEO Ahn Jong-seon will oversee global innovation and R&D, procurement, production, and quality at Hankook Tire, while new CEO Lee Sang-hoon will manage global sales, including the marketing and supply of original equipment (OE) tires for the global integrated brand 'Hankook.'
New CEO Ahn Jong-seon has led the strategy to strengthen the key technological competitiveness of the business-type holding company Hankook & Company. He has driven innovation since 2021 as the CEO overseeing all operations and Head of Energy Solutions, and has served as CEO since 2022. He expanded the sales of premium Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) battery products in major global markets, achieving both enhanced revenue and sound management, while solidifying the foundation for sustainable growth.
New CEO Lee Sang-hoon is an expert specialized in marketing and global sales strategy, having served as the regional head in major global regions such as China and Europe for Hankook Tire since 2018. In 2020, he took charge as the regional head for the European market, enhancing the global premium brand image and continuously generating innovative business results, significantly contributing to revenue growth. Acknowledging these contributions, he was appointed as Hankook Tire's CEO at the end of last year.
