What if the Kakao T driver app is pre-installed on the taxi vehicle display?

A significant change is expected in the way taxi drivers have operated separately with smartphones to receive calling services. On the 25th, Hyundai Motor launched the representative mid-sized taxi model '2025 Sonata Taxi,' which is equipped with a 'taxi integrated terminal.'

Hyundai Motor provides an integrated terminal that allows the use of the Kakao T taxi driver app, Tmap (TMAP) navigation, application taxi meters, and trip recorders through a 12.3-inch display in the vehicle. The 'taxi integrated terminal' has consistently been highlighted as a necessary convenience device.

In particular, it has improved usability by linking the vehicle's steering wheel buttons with the dispatch service of the 'Kakao T taxi driver app.' When accepting call cards, it automatically provides directions via 'Kakao Navi,' and the preferred navigation for taxi customers is applied as 'Tmap navigation.'

Additionally, the application taxi meter features precise fare calculation functions using GPS and wheel rotation, along with automatic adjustment for flexible fare systems such as surcharges and out-of-town fees.

Moreover, Hyundai Motor introduces 'Hyundai TV Plus,' an advertisement-based free streaming TV, in the Sonata taxi for the first time. Hyundai TV Plus allows real-time news channels and various content to be watched for free, enabling taxi operators to enjoy diverse media during their breaks.

Hyundai Motor has applied excellent protection mats and carpets that are resistant to stains and water, maintenance holes for engine oil and filter replacements, and hybrid type wipers to the 2025 Sonata taxi, reducing the burden of vehicle maintenance. The new carpet made of PVC material has superior stain resistance compared to the existing non-woven material carpets, supporting easy vehicle management in situations where the interior gets contaminated due to rain.

The maintenance hole for engine oil replacement is designed to allow for an easy engine oil and filter change by simply removing the cover hole without the need to remove the entire undercover, contributing to improved maintenance convenience and reducing maintenance costs with replaceable hybrid wipers.

The selling price of the 2025 Sonata taxi starts at 25,950,000 won and is sold exclusively to platform transportation operators and business taxi operators.

A Hyundai Motor official said, 'The 2025 Sonata taxi has significantly improved the operating environment for taxi customers with the newly installed taxi integrated terminal,' and 'We will continue to enhance product competitiveness from the perspective of taxi customers to increase their satisfaction.'
