KG Mobility reported on the 19th that its urban electric pickup 'MUSSO EV' has surpassed 3,200 cumulative contracts just two weeks after its launch.
The MUSSO EV is KGM's first electric pickup truck, reinterpreting the MUSSO, a representative sports utility vehicle (SUV) of SsangYong Motor that was discontinued in 2005. The maximum driving range on a single charge is 400 km, and the starting sales price is 48 million won, which can drop to the high 30 million won range in Seoul with subsidies.
According to KGM, the most selected model by MUSSO EV contract customers was the Black Edge 2WD. By trim, the selection rate for the top-tier trim, Black Edge, was 55%, while the entry trim MX accounted for 45%. The selection rate for the all-wheel-drive (AWD) model was approximately 40%.
By customer type, individuals accounted for 45%, while small business owners and self-employed individuals made up 55%. KGM noted that customers who prioritize practicality, along with economic considerations and ample deck space for transporting cargo and outdoor gear, are responding positively.
By age group, the highest ratio was in those in their 50s, at 38.3%, indicating significant purchasing power. By gender, males accounted for an overwhelming percentage at 88.6%. Color preferences were led by Grand White (54%), Spade Black (23%), and Blazing Gold (9%).
The online-only model 'MUSSO EV Special Edition' sold out in just 1 hour and 30 minutes. The average age of customers who contracted this model was 44.7 years, predominantly male, and the selection rate for AWD exceeded half, at about 60%.
