The operator of the live commerce shopping app "Grip," Grip Company, announced on the 19th that it has appointed Kim Tae-soo, former Chief Product Officer (CPO) of Gmarket, as its co-CEO to strengthen specialized leadership in response to the rapidly changing market conditions.

Through this personnel change, Grip Company plans to leap forward as a "commerce creator platform" that reflects next-generation commerce trends and accelerate its efforts to enter the global market.

The newly appointed CEO Kim Tae-soo is an expert in e-commerce platforms, having joined Gmarket in 2000 and served as CPO and Deputy Minister of Sales, leading the growth of domestic e-commerce platforms. He also gained global market experience at eBay Australia.

CEO Kim will be responsible for advancing the commerce business and platform at Grip Company, focusing on providing differentiated user experiences and building a new commerce ecosystem centered on creators.

Kim Han-na, the founder of Grip Company, will concentrate on establishing commerce creator strategies and global expansion under the co-CEO system.

Grip Company is planning to expand its platform beyond "live commerce" to a creator-centric commerce model this year. The company will enhance its matching service to allow anyone to generate revenue on the platform without holding products and will revamp the platform to enable everyone to act as creators by utilizing various content such as live broadcasts, shorts, and images.
