Hyundai Elevator announced on the 14th that it has started a service where robots deliver beverages and snacks sold at the cafe on the first floor of its headquarters in Chungju, North Chungcheong Province, to office floors. When an order is placed via mobile phone from the office without visiting the cafe, the robot takes the elevator to deliver it to the meeting room or seating area. It can carry a maximum of two orders and 20 cups of beverages at a time.

The robot-elevator integrated delivery service of Hyundai Elevator is being carried out at over 40 delivery robots in addition to the headquarters, including hospitals, hotels, and banks. As construction companies and robot manufacturers show increasing interest, the service is expected to expand to apartment community centers and homes in the future.
A spokesperson for Hyundai Elevator noted, "To extend the limits of robot delivery, which has remained horizontal, vertical integration with elevators is essential," and added, "Since the technology for elevator-robot integration has already reached commercialization, we will provide a higher level of service."
