The U.S. defense startup Shield AI, which develops AI-based autonomous flight technology, recently modified its announcement regarding $240 million (about 349 billion won) in Series F funding on the 13th.

In the previous funding announcement, Hanwha Aerospace was specified as an investor in Shield AI; however, the actual investing institution was Hanwha Asset Management.

Earlier, Shield AI announced on the 6th that it secured $240 million in funding from strategic investor Hanwha Aerospace and existing investors such as Andreessen Horowitz. Shield AI was valued at $5.3 billion.

Shield AI is a U.S. defense startup that develops software for drones and autonomous driving systems. Using the AI-based software platform created by Shield AI, hardware for autonomous flying vehicles or autonomous driving robots can be developed.

Through this investment, Shield AI plans to expand the distribution of its core AI-based developer platform Hivemind Enterprise and strengthen the foundation of the drone and robotics industry.
