On the 12th, Doosan Enerbility noted that it had signed an Early Works Agreement (EWA) with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy the previous day at its headquarters in Changwon for the establishment of a new wind power plant. Siemens Gamesa is the wind energy sector of Siemens Energy in Germany and is the number one company in the global offshore wind market.

After forming a strategic partnership in 2022 to expand the domestic offshore wind market, the two companies are entering the full execution phase through this agreement. Doosan Enerbility will be responsible for the design of the 14 MW offshore wind turbine manufacturing facility and production system at the Changwon plant. Siemens Gamesa will promote the transfer of technology and support personnel to strengthen Doosan Enerbility's capabilities in assembling nacelles, while also conducting training.

Doosan Enerbility has been involved in the wind power business since 2005 and has the highest supply record for offshore wind in the country. Son Seung-woo, head of the Power Service Business Group at Doosan Enerbility, said, "We will contribute to not only revitalizing the domestic offshore wind ecosystem through synergies from our cooperation but also increasing carbon-free energy."

In the competitive bidding for fixed-price contracts for wind power held in the second half of last year, five offshore wind projects and six onshore wind projects were selected. Among these, Doosan Enerbility was selected as the preferred contract negotiation partner for the Yawol Offshore Wind (104 MW) project. Siemens Gamesa was selected as the preferred negotiation partner for the Anma 1 Offshore Wind (224 MW), Anma 2 Offshore Wind (308 MW), and Firefly Floating Offshore Wind (750 MW) projects. Siemens Gamesa is expected to supply nacelles assembled at the Doosan Enerbility Changwon plant.
