Carbon emission data management corporation Glassdom announced on the 11th that it has established a European subsidiary in Munich, Germany, and will officially enter the European market.
Glassdom is a climate tech (climate + technology) specialized corporation that collects, monitors, and reports carbon data generated during the manufacturing process, providing a one-stop solution to help corporations respond to global environmental regulations.
Following the United States and South Korea, Glassdom plans to establish a European subsidiary to offer carbon management solutions to manufacturing corporations in the automotive, battery, and electronics industries in Europe, the origin of global carbon regulations.
The European Union (EU) battery regulation mandates the collection of carbon footprint data for electric vehicles and rechargeable industrial batteries. Additionally, a digital battery passport is expected to be introduced in 2027, requiring automotive and battery-related suppliers to measure the carbon emission data of their components to obtain global certification.
Glassdom's product carbon footprint solution compiles and manages carbon emission data for corporations with various types of machinery and production lines. Specifically, it has obtained 'ISO 14067' certification, significantly reducing the time and expense required for global certification of carbon emission data.
Glassdom's product carbon footprint solution and third-party certification service are currently utilized by prominent corporations in Korea, including Lotte Infrasel, Choil Aluminum, SKIET, LG Electronics VS Division, Shinseong Autotech, and MEMC.
Ham Jin-ki, the representative of Glassdom Korea, noted, 'The Glassdom European subsidiary will be a key hub to support automotive, battery, and electronics manufacturing corporations located in Europe to effectively respond to the strengthening EU carbon regulations.'
The European subsidiary will be led by Yoon Tae-jin, a director at Glassdom Korea. Yoon joined Glassdom Korea in June 2023 after working at Citibank, KakaoBank, and Medibloc.
