GenGenAI is a generative AI technology corporation established in 2022. KAI expects that through its equity investment, it will be able to stably procure high-quality synthetic data to enhance the technology of AI pilots, which are key to future air combat systems. It plans to utilize synthetic data to generate training data for automatic target recognition (ATR). Automatic target recognition is a technology that recognizes targets, identifies friendly or enemy forces, and conducts surveillance and reconnaissance based on pre-learned images.

KAI explained that through collaboration with GenGenAI, it could reduce data collection time by up to 90% and expenses by more than 50%.

GenGenAI was selected in the AI sector of the '100 Defense Innovation Companies' last year. It also won an innovation award in the AI field at the CES 2025 exhibition in the United States for its synthetic data generation platform GenGenStudio.

KAI CEO Kang Gu-young said, "The capabilities of GenGenAI will play a crucial role in accelerating the development of AI pilots to prepare for future battlefield systems."

KAI has invested in corporations such as Conan, an AI big data company, Meisa, an AI satellite image analysis company, and Funjin, a decision-making AI specialist, to strengthen its AI technological capabilities.
