BMW Korea has launched the premium all-wheel-drive pure electric sedan "New i5 xDrive40" domestically, it noted on the 7th. The vehicle is equipped with the intelligent all-wheel-drive system BMW xDrive and features fifth-generation BMW eDrive electric motors on the front and rear axles.

The New i5 xDrive40 delivers a maximum output of 394 horsepower and a maximum torque of 60.1kg·m, improving by 54 horsepower and 19.3kg·m compared to the rear-wheel-drive model i5 eDrive40. It accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 215 km/h.

The battery has a capacity of 83.5 kilowatt-hours (kWh), providing a driving range of 412 km on a single charge. It supports fast charging at up to 205 kW and takes around 30 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%.

The New i5 xDrive40 will be offered in two trims: the M Sport Package and the M Sport Package Pro. The M Sport Package features 19-inch wheels and a Harman Kardon surround sound system as standard. The M Sport Package Pro includes 20-inch wheels and a Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system.

With the launch of the New i5 xDrive40, BMW's 5 Series now offers a total of eight powertrains and 18 trims. The selling price of the New i5 xDrive40 is 100.3 million won for the M Sport Package and 108.58 million won for the M Sport Package Pro.
