Automobili Lamborghini unveiled its successor to the Huracán and its second plug-in hybrid super sports car, "Temerario," for the first time in the country.
The domestic premiere event for "Temerario," which was first unveiled at the Monterey Car Week last August, took place about six months later and was attended by Stephan Winkelmann, president and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini; Federico Foschini, CMO of Automobili Lamborghini; and Francesco Scardaoni, head of Automobili Lamborghini's Asia-Pacific region, reflecting the significance of the Korean market. The event held in Seoul was successfully conducted with more than 500 customers and media representatives in attendance.
"Temerario" is Automobili Lamborghini's second High Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV) plug-in hybrid super sports car, following the flagship model "Revuelto," and it delivers impressive hybrid performance with a new 4.0L V8 twin-turbo gasoline engine and three electric motors, achieving a combined maximum output of 920 horsepower (CV) and peak torque of 74.4 kg·m (730 Nm).
As a result, Automobili Lamborghini has completed the hybridization of its entire lineup, becoming the first luxury automobile manufacturer to offer all plug-in hybrid models, including the brand's first V12 HPEV supercar "Revuelto," the brand's first plug-in hybrid super SUV "Urus SE," and "Temerario."
At this event, models including "Temerario," featuring the Verde Mercurius (Mercury Green) color and the "Alleggerita" lightweight package, as well as "Revuelto" and "Urus SE," were on display. Attendees had the opportunity to explore more than 400 exterior colors and various interior options through Lamborghini's bespoke customization program, "Ad Personam."
Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, said, "It is a very important market for Lamborghini and one of the key markets in the Asia-Pacific region. Francesco Scardaoni, head of Automobili Lamborghini's Asia-Pacific region, explained, "Korea is one of the top three markets in the Asia-Pacific region, and the Korean premiere of 'Temerario' holds significant meaning." He described, "The new V8 twin-turbo engine of 'Temerario' features responsiveness comparable to Lamborghini's unique high-rev naturally aspirated engines." He continued, "'Temerario' offers a level of powerful performance combined with comfort, which I expect will further enhance Korean customers' satisfaction and write another success story."
"Temerario" achieves a combined maximum output of 920 horsepower (676 kW) and peak torque of 74.4 kg·m (730 Nm) through the combination of a 4.0L V8 twin-turbo engine delivering 800 horsepower and three electric motors. It takes just 2.7 seconds to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h, with a top speed of 340 km/h. Furthermore, it has replicated the high-rev responsiveness of Lamborghini's naturally aspirated engines while achieving powerful performance.
The 4.0L V8 twin-turbo engine equipped in 'Temerario' is a completely newly developed engine, reaching a maximum rotation speed of a remarkable 10,000 rpm. The three electric motors, organically integrated with the engine, elevate 'Temerario's' performance and efficiency to a new level. One motor is situated between the V8 engine and the transmission, while the two motors handle the front-wheel drive, distributing power to all four wheels as needed.
'Temerario' not only enhances powerful performance but also elevates comfort and convenience to a new level. Thanks to the newly developed chassis, 'Temerario' offers best-in-class passenger and cargo space and, with the introduction of the advanced Lamborghini Vision Unit (LAVU) system, provides the most innovative multimedia experience in Lamborghini history.
The Lamborghini 'Temerario' completes the image of a futuristic HPEV super sports car with its intuitively and aerodynamically designed exterior. Its exterior features new hexagonal daytime running lights and shark-nose design, highlighting Lamborghini's characteristic sportiness and muscularity. The interior utilizes high-quality materials, including carbon fiber, providing both luxury and functionality. The racing-inspired steering wheel and the latest digital interface offer the driver a user-friendly experience that allows them to perfectly connect with the vehicle.
'Temerario' provides personalized services that cater to customer preferences through the Ad Personam program, which offers various customization options. The lightweight package 'Alleggerita' can reduce the vehicle's weight by over 25 kg, allowing for greater downforce and efficiency. This package includes wheels made from carbon fiber and a variety of carbon fiber interior and exterior materials, ensuring optimal performance even during track driving. Additionally, selecting the Alleggerita package greatly improves high-speed stability by creating more powerful rear downforce.
'Temerario' is equipped with Lamborghini's most advanced multimedia system. Through various features such as a 12.3-inch digital cluster, an 8.4-inch main display, a 9.1-inch passenger display, smartphone consolidation, and navigation system, it provides an excellent experience for both daily driving and track performance. Furthermore, the new driving modes combined with the hybrid system allow for optimum performance anytime and anywhere. The Lamborghini Vision Unit (LAVU) system further enhances the ability to record and analyze driving data using three cameras and a dedicated control device, helping drivers maximize their driving skills.
'Temerario' offers a total of 13 driving modes to experience thrilling driving anytime and anywhere. The driving mode can be selected through the rotor on the steering wheel, and modes such as Citta, Strada, Sport, Corsa, and Corsa Plus (ESF Off) can be chosen through the left crown rotor, while the right crown rotor can adjust the operation mode between the electric motors and internal combustion engine with Recharge, Hybrid, and Performance modes.
The Citta mode is set for urban driving, and the Strada mode is suited for long-distance high-speed driving. Both modes are available in Recharge and Hybrid modes. The Sport mode maximizes driving sensations and can be combined with the three modes of Recharge, Hybrid, and Performance, offering a maximum output of 920 CV. The Corsa mode is optimized for track driving, while Corsa Plus is a mode that deactivates the electronic stability control (ESC), intended for skilled drivers. Additionally, pressing the checkered flag button for two seconds activates launch control, which delivers maximum acceleration from a standstill. The right lower crown rotor also allows for three levels of Drift Mode, maximizing fun driving by actively engaging oversteer.
