205kWh battery, 740km driving range on a single charge. While the driving range is impressive, the battery capacity is more than double that of sedan-type electric vehicles. Given the size of the Cadillac Escalade, that does make sense.
The American luxury brand Cadillac is expanding its full-size luxury SUV Escalade lineup with the introduction of the all-electric Escalade IQL for the 2026 model year in the U.S. market.
The Escalade IQL is a model that maximizes practicality by adding additional passenger and cargo space to the technology of the Escalade IQ, which was revealed last year. It has extended the length compared to the existing Escalade IQ to expand third-row space and rear cargo space, and has installed a front eTrunk of 345L size for additional storage.
The interior features a pillar-to-pillar 55-inch curved display and a second-row executive seat package to provide advanced technology and a luxurious feel simultaneously. The second-row executive seat package includes a stowable tray table, a 12.6-inch personal screen, a rear console, two wireless charging pads, massage, heated, and ventilated seats (including 14-way adjustability), and headrest speakers.
The Escalade IQL uses the GM electric vehicle platform and is based on a 24-module 205kWh battery, providing a maximum driving range of approximately 740km on a single charge (according to Cadillac estimates) and allowing for about 187km of range to be charged in just 10 minutes when using DC fast charging.
In addition, with a maximum output of 750 horsepower and maximum torque of 108 kg.m, it accelerates from 0-96km/h in just 4.7 seconds (based on Velocity Max mode, according to Cadillac estimates) and provides a maximum towing capacity of approximately 3,400kg.
The Escalade IQL secures precise steering and driving stability through independent front and rear suspensions, while achieving a smooth ride and refined handling with Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 and Air Ride Adaptive Suspension.
For the past 25 years, the Escalade has led the full-size luxury SUV market and is a representative model of Cadillac with over 1 million units sold globally. With the launch of the Escalade IQL, a complete lineup encompassing the all-electric Escalade IQ and the internal combustion engine Escalade has been established, further enhancing the future competitiveness of the Escalade brand.
John Roth, global Cadillac vice president, noted, "The Escalade has been the best-selling full-size luxury SUV in North America since 2014, and the Escalade IQL is an important expansion model in the Cadillac portfolio, broadening the options for customers with the addition of an electric vehicle option."
The Escalade IQL will be available in four trims in the North American market: Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury, and Premium Sport, starting at a base price of $129,695 (excluding taxes and other fees).
The Escalade IQL will be produced starting in mid-2025 at GM Factory ZERO in Hamtramck, Michigan, and sales will expand globally, starting from the North American market.
