Mercedes-Benz Korea has launched three new models from its high-performance brand AMG: the 'Mercedes-AMG E 53 Hybrid 4MATIC+', 'Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 4MATIC+ Cabriolet', and 'Mercedes-AMG SL 43'.
Recently, the brand launched the high-performance plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV) model of the premium midsize sedan E-Class, the 'Mercedes-AMG E 53 Hybrid 4MATIC+'. It is characterized by dynamic driving performance and high efficiency with its PHEV system.
The vehicle produces a maximum system output of 585 horsepower and a maximum system torque of 750Nm, thanks to the combination of a 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder gasoline turbo engine and an electric motor. It takes 3.8 seconds to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h.
It can travel 66 km (based on domestic certification) using only electric power. It supports four regenerative braking modes, enabling driving sensations similar to internal combustion engines as well as the unique one-pedal driving of electric vehicles. The vehicle is certified as two types of low-emission vehicles, offering benefits such as reductions in congestion tolls and public parking fees.
Advanced safety specifications are also implemented to assist driving. Features include 'AMG Ride Control,' which adjusts the damping of each wheel according to driving conditions, and 'rear axle steering,' which helps agile vehicle maneuvering by steering the rear wheels up to 2.5 degrees.
The Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 4MATIC+ Cabriolet is a model that allows for an open-top experience. The 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder engine delivers a maximum output of 449 horsepower and a maximum torque of 57.1 kgf·m. It provides an additional 17 kW of power at startup through a second-generation integrated starter generator.
The soft top of the CLE 53 4MATIC+ Cabriolet features a multilayer structure for enhanced insulation, maintaining the interior temperature at an optimal level throughout the four seasons while reducing external wind and noise. It can be opened or closed within 20 seconds while traveling at speeds up to 60 km/h.
The Mercedes-AMG SL 43 is a luxury roadster (two-seater open-top) equipped with a 2.0L inline 4-cylinder gasoline turbo engine. A turbocharger operated by a 48V onboard electric system combines with the engine to deliver a maximum output of 421 horsepower and maximum torque of 51 kg·m. It takes 4.7 seconds to reach 100 km/h from a standstill.
Practicality for everyday driving has also been enhanced. It features 2+2 seating and a soft top that can be opened or closed at speeds up to 60 km/h, taking 15 seconds for the operation. An airscarf, which blows warm air from the lower part of the headrest, is also installed, allowing for open-top driving even in cold weather.
