Dongkuk Steel Mill Group grants leave for up to 5 days to employees with children starting elementary school.
Dongkuk Steel Mill Group noted on the 24th that it provided "elementary school entrance parental care leave" to 107 parents of employees' children who are about to enter elementary school this year, along with gifts of school supplies and letters from the chief executives.
Dongkuk Steel Mill Group has been granting employees with children scheduled to enter elementary school a minimum of 2 days and a maximum of 5 days off since 2019, allowing them to accompany their children on their first day of school.
Dongkuk Steel Mill and Dongkuk CM, the business entities of Dongkuk Steel Mill Group, sent gifts including suitcases, backpacks, and sets of school supplies to children of employees entering elementary school, along with letters written by the chief executives.
Currently, Dongkuk Steel Mill Group has two major business entities, Dongkuk Steel Mill and Dongkuk CM, under its holding company DongKuk Holdings.
Choi Sam-young, president of Dongkuk Steel Mill, conveyed in a letter, "Congratulations on your entrance to elementary school," and expressed, "I wish you a joyful school life filled with new beginnings and happy encounters."
Park Sang-hoon, president of Dongkuk CM, quoted the poet Oh In-tae's poem "The world is so beautiful like this" and said, "I wish for the happiness of children, which is more beautiful than flowers and shines like jewels, and the health of their families."
