Jose Munoz, CEO of Hyundai, said, "We must continuously present beautiful, high-quality vehicles that contain the technology customers want. Products that are not perfect should not be launched into the market."
On the 20th, Munoz held his first town hall meeting at Hyundai's Namyang Research Center since taking office, stating, "Our top priority is to showcase vehicles with the technology and features customers desire at the highest level of quality and great design."
This town hall meeting was an opportunity for Munoz to share his thoughts after two months in office and discuss Hyundai's management strategies, future vision, and direction. More than 800 employees, including Yang Hee-won, Deputy Minister of R&D, and Kim Hye-in, Vice President of the HR Department, attended.
Munoz emphasized, "Quality and safety have been and will always be Hyundai's top priorities, with no compromise," adding, "We must strive to maximize customer value based on the best quality."
The electric vehicle (EV) market will flexibly respond according to consumer demand. Munoz mentioned, "We plan to continuously invest in a diverse portfolio, including EVs, hybrid vehicles (HEVs), plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs), and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (FCEVs), and we need to work two to three times harder than others."
Regarding the development achievements and competitiveness of autonomous driving technology, he stated, "Autonomous driving has tremendous potential to enable more convenient and efficient safe driving," adding, "We will collect data for autonomous driving to improve technology and pursue various partnerships."
Munoz said, "I believe the 3Hs—Stay Humble, Stay Hungry, Work Hard—are important," and added, "I am here to serve our employees, and let's combine our efforts to serve our customers."
