Virtual human specialist company Omotion announced on the 20th that it signed a business agreement with global webtoon production studio Metatoon on Jan. 9.
The core is to collaborate for the expansion of augmented reality (AR) content based on artificial intelligence (AI) technology incorporating webtoon intellectual property (IP). They plan to exchange the knowledge and technology necessary to realize this.
Omotion possesses sophisticated virtual human generation and animating technology based on AI.
Metatoon CEO Kim Jae-hoon noted, "Recently, there has been a significant increase in customer demands for secondary content in the webtoon and overall content industry," and added, "Through this agreement, Metatoon expects to produce next-generation AR content incorporating webtoon IP for not only domestic but also global fandom."
Omotion CEO Oh Moon-suk said, "Through this, we will strive to create new technological content that will excite webtoon readers."
