HD Hyundai Hope Foundation announced on the 19th that it has delivered its first scholarship to the children of families affected by serious workplace accidents.
On the same day, the HD Hyundai Hope Foundation delivered scholarships to three children of families affected by serious workplace accidents at the HD Hyundai Global R&D Center in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province.
The HD Hyundai Hope Foundation is a scholarship foundation established in September last year to support families affected by serious workplace accidents in shipyards. Kwon Oh-gap, chairman of HD Hyundai, made grants from his personal funds. The foundation operates scholarship support programs for children of families affected by serious workplace accidents, as well as providing living and medical expense support for families, and offering legal assistance programs.
The scholarship support program targets college students among families of disaster victims in the shipbuilding industry. Applications are accepted year-round on the HD Hyundai Hope Foundation's website.
Lee Gi-kwon, chairman of the HD Hyundai Hope Foundation, said, "We plan to continuously support the families who have lost loved ones due to serious workplace accidents so they can prepare for the future without losing hope amid financial difficulties."
