Hanwha Aerospace announced on the 19th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to expand strategic partnerships with 'Milrem Robotics,' Europe's largest unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) corporation, for the joint development of the latest tracked product T-RCV (Tracked-Robotic Combat Vehicle) and a drive into the global market.
Based on this, Hanwha Aerospace plans to enhance the technology of its UGV line, which includes 'Arion-SMET' and 'GRUNT (Ground Uncrewed Transport),' and advance into both the domestic and global markets.
'Milrem Robotics' of Estonia has supplied tracked UGVs to a total of 16 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and France, which are member countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). The company is leading the standardization of global UGVs and is regarded as possessing world-class technology.
Hanwha Aerospace has successfully conducted the U.S. military's Foreign Comparative Testing (FCT) using the wheeled UGV 'Arion-SMET' and has independently developed the next-generation UGV 'GRUNT,' gaining recognition for its technology in the global market.
A representative of Hanwha Aerospace said, 'Based on our cooperation, we will present new alternatives to domestic and international customers to respond to the rapidly changing modern combat environment.'
