Kia unveiled the exterior design of its first electrified sedan, the 'Kia EV4' (hereafter EV4), on the 17th.
The EV4 is the fourth dedicated electric vehicle model introduced in Korea, following Kia's launch of its first dedicated electric vehicle, the EV6, in 2021, and the EV9 and EV3. It is Kia's first electrified sedan aimed at leading the popularization of electric vehicles and expanding its EV lineup.
The front of the EV4 is designed with a 'Tiger Face' image featuring vertical headlamps and star map signature lighting harmoniously integrated. The geometric pattern applied to the lower bumper design emphasizes a sleek and dynamic feel.
The side view is designed to achieve harmony with a silhouette that gently extends from the lower hood front to the end of the trunk, along with black cladding that wraps around the wheel arches.
The rear features a roof spoiler not seen in existing sedans, positioned at both ends of the vehicle body. Additionally, the vertically oriented tail lights, located along the vehicle's edges, provide a sense of unity with the front lamp design and emphasize the wide trunk.
The EV4 GT line emphasizes a more dynamic atmosphere with dedicated design elements based on the standard model's design.
The wing-shaped front and rear bumpers give a stronger yet sleeker impression, and the dedicated 19-inch wheels are designed around a triangular form to convey a futuristic and dynamic feel.
Kia's Global Design Head Karim Habib said, 'The EV4 will provide a sophisticated yet practical usage experience that matches customers' diverse lifestyles.'
Meanwhile, Kia plans to unveil the interior design and detailed specifications of the EV4 along with its expanded electrification strategy at the '2025 Kia EV Day' being held in Tarragona, Spain, at the end of this month.
