The Korea International Freight Forwarders Association (KIFFA) announced on the 14th that it held a seminar on "Strategies for the Development of the International Logistics Industry" in collaboration with Congressman Lee Yang-soo at the National Assembly Library auditorium in Yeouido, Seoul.

The seminar was successfully held with the attendance of over 300 participants, including Chairperson Maeng Seong-kyu of the National Land, Infrastructure, and Transport Committee, Congressmembers Kim Jung-jae, Kim Eun-hye, Eom Tae-young, Lee In-sun, Cho Jung-hoon, and Lim Jong-deok, along with representatives from related organizations and the international logistics industry.

In the keynote speech, Chairperson Kim Byeong-jun of the International Logistics Development Advisory Committee emphasized the need for a high-level decision-making body that can continuously consult and decide on logistics-related policies among relevant ministries, stating, "There should be either a committee organization directly under the President or at least a Prime Minister's committee."

Professor Han Jong-gil of Sangmyung University presented on "Analysis of Trends in the Global Supply Chain Market and Improvement Plans for the International Logistics Industry," followed by Professor Kim In-hyun, head of the Maritime Law Research Center at Korea University, discussing "Legislation of the Status of Transport Operators for Freight Forwarders," and Professor Kim Young-joo of Pusan National University presenting on "Improvement Plans for the Promotion of the International Logistics Industry."

KIFFA Chairman Won Je-cheol said, "While national competitiveness can be assessed by various factors, the logistics industry capability is becoming the most critical indicator in this era" and noted, "Considering our economic structure, we must prioritize fostering and protecting the international logistics industry and related corporations as a key industry."
