Hyundai Mobis announced on the 12th that it has developed a "moving speaker" system that operates in accordance with the movements of a variable (rollable) display installed in the driver's seat (cockpit).
According to Hyundai Mobis, this system is a technology that delivers optimal sound quality to users tailored to various situations while providing a differentiated interior design. In particular, the moving speaker is designed to move along with the rollable display developed by Hyundai Mobis in 2023.
The rollable display is a technology that transforms into an optimized screen size to display various information such as navigation, videos, and music on a super-sized screen of around 30 inches. The moving speaker is mounted on the front right and left sides, as well as in the center, adjusting its angle according to the display situation. This reduces interference from surrounding sound waves and provides high-quality sound.
It is designed to expand to its maximum size to enjoy video content while the vehicle is stopped or in autonomous driving mode. During this time, the sound is directed toward the front windshield of the vehicle. When driving, it rotates the angle toward the driver's face to deliver a more vivid sound, according to Hyundai Mobis.
Han Young-hoon, head of Hyundai Mobis Human-Machine Interface (HMI) development, said, "We will target the market with future innovative convergence products to deliver differentiated brand value unique to Hyundai Mobis in the mobility sector."
