Mercedes-Benz announced on the 31st that the latest 11th generation model of the E-Class was selected as the 'safest vehicle of 2024' in the European vehicle safety assessment program 'Euro NCAP.'
Euro NCAP is a program that evaluates the safety of new cars sold in the European market through crash tests and other evaluations conducted in collaboration with the traffic departments and insurance associations of various European countries since 1997.
In this Euro NCAP assessment, the E-Class received high scores across four categories: adult occupant protection, child occupant protection, pedestrian protection, and safety technologies, making it the safest car among the 53 vehicles evaluated last year.
The entry model among the 11th generation E-Class models, the E200, was recognized for its stability in December of last year. It received the Excellence Award in the '2024 Vehicle Safety Assessment (KNCAP)' announced by the Korea Transportation Safety Authority's Automobile Safety Research Institute last December.
Additionally, it received a grade of 16, which is one level higher than the previous model, according to the vehicle model rating evaluation results from the Insurance Development Institute. This evaluation is a system that determines insurance premium ratings based on the extent of damage and repairability in crash accidents, and with the upgrade in the rating, the cost of collision insurance for the E-Class is expected to decrease, according to Mercedes-Benz.
