'The Second Seoul Fintech Lab' is a digital finance startup support organization established by the Seoul Metropolitan Government in January 2023. It is operated by the startup-focused accelerator CNT Tech. The lab focuses on nurturing fintech and blockchain technology corporations. From the 15th to the 10th of next month, it is recruiting 16 corporations to enter the Second Seoul Fintech Lab.
In its first two years after opening, the Second Seoul Fintech Lab supported 61 corporations, which achieved 9.5 billion won in investment attraction, created 133 jobs, and secured 89 intellectual property rights. Sales also increased by 28% compared to the previous year.
In particular, by linking with the largest lab in the country, the 'Seoul Fintech Lab', the Second Seoul Fintech Lab nurtures early-stage startups within three years of founding, while supporting the scale-up of growth-stage startups through the Seoul Fintech Lab.
The Second Seoul Fintech Lab is currently nurturing 42 startups. With 25 resident corporations and 16 membership corporations, various fintech and blockchain technology startups are seeking growth. Resident corporations and membership corporations, which receive office space in the form of a shared office, can access a range of corporate growth programs offered by the Second Seoul Fintech Lab.
Key programs include expert mentoring for strengthening business capabilities, as well as investor attraction, marketing, overseas exhibitions, and overseas demo days.
Chae Seong-min, center director of the Second Seoul Fintech Lab, noted, 'We provide all necessary support for corporate growth, including support for resident space, consulting and dedicated mentoring in various fields necessary for early-stage startups, investment attraction, demo day events, and networking.'
The Second Seoul Fintech Lab participated in the 'Seoul Fintech Week 2024' hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government last October, and held the 'Second Seoul Fintech Lab Demo Day'. Approximately 40 investing firms attended the demo day, which partnered with Naver Cloud, where fintech corporations receiving support from the Second Seoul Fintech Lab, as well as six external corporations, conducted corporate IR.
Through evaluations by the judging panel and investor panel, 'Touch and Go', which provides smartphone NFC integrated payment platforms, and 'FractalFN', which offers token securities issuance (STO) services based on stocks as underlying assets, were selected as excellent corporations to join the Second Seoul Fintech Lab and receive support from the Naver Cloud startup support program.
In November of last year, the Second Seoul Fintech Lab participated in the world's largest fintech event, the 'Singapore Fintech Festival (SFF)', held in collaboration with the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Singapore, playing a role in promoting promising domestic fintech corporations.
Chae Seong-min stated, 'We will strengthen our role as a hub connecting future digital finance fintech and blockchain startups.'
