At the conference call for 4th quarter performance announcement on the 24th, Kia responded to a question about whether "Kia's factory in Mexico could be hit hard by the tariff policy of the Trump administration 2.0" by stating, "About 120,000 units of the K4 produced in Mexico will be affected in 2025." They added, "In the short term, there will be additional burdens equivalent to the increased tariff, but we plan to prepare for this through price adjustments or production cost revisions." They further noted, "The tariff policy is not at a level that would undermine Kia's system. We are continuously reviewing it internally."
Kia stated that it is considering reducing burdens by efficiently changing its logistics supply chain, such as increasing shipments from Mexico to Canada or bringing engine production into the U.S. Alabama factory.
