Cheil Worldwide announced on the 23rd that it will conduct domestic launch marketing for the South Korean corporation of the Chinese electric vehicle brand BYD, '"BYD Korea".'
As part of this launch marketing, Cheil Worldwide released an advertisement showcasing the domestic debut of the small electric sports utility vehicle (SUV) BYD '"ATTO 3"' on the 16th.
The advertisement produced by Cheil Worldwide captures BYD's technological evolution in overcoming limitations. Utilizing the initials (ㅂㅇㄷ) derived from the brand name of BYD, the campaign aims to imprint BYD electric vehicles in the minds of Korean consumers and intuitively convey the superior technology of the products.
The advertisement video expresses the BYD Blade battery technology, which has been certified for safety through nail penetration tests, using '"learning"' as a keyword, and also includes content about the '"e-platform 3.0"' designed to reduce unnecessary space and enhance spatial usability. Notably, the bold attempt to include a scene where a nail penetrates the battery stands out.
A representative from Cheil Worldwide, which planned the advertisement, noted, "We created the advertisement to make the advantages of BYD, which have been proven globally, easily understandable," and added, "As this is the first launch in the Korean market, we aimed to capture attention by utilizing the brand initials to ensure the BYD brand name is memorable."
In addition to the advertisement video, BYD and Cheil Worldwide opened a brand launch event on the 16th at the Sangsang Platform in Jung-gu, Incheon, marking the start of their entry into the South Korean passenger vehicle market. The event introduced BYD corporations' history, eco-friendly philosophy, and business achievements, as well as showcased the e-platform 3.0 equipped with the CTB (Cell to Body) technology, which represents the essence of BYD's technological prowess, and the Blade battery nail penetration test simulator.
Additionally, for the first time in South Korea, three types of electric vehicles were unveiled: BYD ATTO 3, BYD SEAL, and BYD SEALION 7, captivating participants with a stage driving performance utilizing lighting and graphics.
Meanwhile, BYD Korea will operate a BYD brand exhibition and experience center for general consumers at the Incheon Sangsang Platform until February 2. Events will include the display of BYD vehicles, the operation of various themed experience zones utilizing the V2L feature of electric vehicles, and prize events such as the offering of 1 don of gold.
