Doosan Enerbility has joined forces with Korea Southern Power to enter the U.S. gas turbine service market.
Doosan Enerbility noted on the 21st that it signed a memorandum of understanding for the 'Gas Turbine Export Community Team Korea' at its headquarters in Changwon.
The Gas Turbine Team Korea consists of Korea Southern Power, Doosan Enerbility, and nine domestic gas turbine partners. The participants agreed to collaborate on technology development and to foster the industrial ecosystem. Korea Southern Power and Doosan Enerbility will also embark on joint marketing efforts for a full-scale entry into the U.S. market.
The Gas Turbine Team Korea is focusing on the 7F (150 MW class) gas turbine service market supplied by overseas manufacturers in the U.S. More than 940 units of the 7F gas turbine have been supplied worldwide, with over 660 units operating in the U.S. Doosan Enerbility has a specialized gas turbine service subsidiary, Doosan Turbomachinery Services (DTS), located in Houston, Texas.
Jung Yeon-in, vice chairman of Doosan Enerbility, said, "We will leverage our proven competitiveness in Korea and the local subsidiary's network to create success stories in the U.S. gas turbine service market."
The signing ceremony was attended by Kim Joon-dong, president of Korea Southern Power; Lim Kyung-kyu, director of the power generation division; Jung Yeon-in, vice chairman of Doosan Enerbility; Son Seung-woo, head of Power Service BG; and representatives from nine domestic gas turbine partners (Geosung Precision, Daeyoung Metal, Daejin Metal Industry, Daechang Solution, Daehan Machinery Industry, Seorim Machinery, Seojin Mechanics, Iljin Machinery, DHMI).
