MinTech announced on the 21st that it has obtained a patent in Europe for the "METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING STATE OF REUSE OF BATTERY."
This patent concerns a method for assessing the reuse life (State Of Reuse) of batteries after electric vehicle use, considering not only the remaining life but also the power life.
A MinTech official explained, "This patent utilizes electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) for the first time in the world as a method to diagnose the life of batteries, determining their potential for reuse and recycling after electric vehicle use." MinTech registered this patent in South Korea in January 2019 and in the United States in July 2022.
Hong Young-jin, CEO of MinTech, noted, "This patent is expected to become a fundamental patent in major global markets for diagnosing the lifespan of electric vehicle batteries using EIS," and he added, "We will continue to focus our efforts on research and development to further widen the technological gap and strengthen our position as a leading company."
