The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises and the Small and Medium Enterprises Love Sharing Foundation announced on the 21st that they delivered 52,000 servings of rice cake soup and $200,000 worth of essentials, including winter clothing, to more than 200 welfare facilities nationwide, allowing vulnerable groups to have a warm holiday ahead of the Lunar New Year.
Since 2021, the Small and Medium Enterprises Love Sharing Foundation has produced about 40,000 servings of holiday meals in kits for delivery to welfare facilities across the country during the Lunar New Year and Chuseok holidays, comforting marginalized groups who spend more lonely times during these holiday periods.
In 2025, they purchased holiday meal kits, consisting of about $160,000 worth of beef, rice cake soup ingredients, dumplings, and homemade noodles, as well as $40,000 worth of winter supplies and essentials, providing support to more than 200 welfare facilities nationwide.
In particular, customized deliveries of essential items were made not only for holiday meal kits but also for necessary supplies at welfare facilities for children, the elderly, individuals with disabilities, and the homeless.
For children's facilities, items such as school supplies, toys, and sports equipment were provided; for elderly facilities, rice, toilet paper, and electric mats were given; for facilities for individuals with disabilities, adult diapers, rice, and blankets were supplied; and for homeless facilities, blankets, mattresses, and thermal underwear were delivered as essential items to local communities.
Some items, including school supplies, toys, and thermal underwear, were sourced from donations made by the small and medium enterprise sector, while rice was purchased and delivered from the clean area of Jangjae-ri in Boeun County, where a one-company, one-village partnership is established, enhancing the meaning of coexistence with rural communities.
Kim Gi-mun, chairman of the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises, said, "In the holiday meal sharing that started during the COVID-19 period, we have put in meticulous efforts to ensure that from 2025 onwards, we can support the items truly needed by those receiving assistance."
