LIG Nex1 announced on the 17th that it held the 'LIG Nex1 2 Pangyo House opening ceremony' on the 16th, attended by key executives including Gu Bon-sang, chairman of LIG, and Shin Ik-hyun, CEO of LIG Nex1.
The 2 Pangyo House is a facility with state-of-the-art research and development and testing equipment on a total area of 57,210 square meters (about 17,000 pyeong). It also operates meeting rooms and seminar spaces for exchanges in business and technology fields. LIG Nex1 plans to utilize the 2 Pangyo House as a workspace for the increasing research and development workforce while establishing a nature-friendly research and development center in conjunction with facilities such as Pangyo and Yongin House.
LIG Nex1 plans to significantly enhance its research and development capabilities through the convergence of business sectors covering both defense and civilian markets, based on its new research and development center following its sites in Gumi, Yongin, Pangyo, and Daejeon. The 2 Pangyo House is in close proximity to technology companies and partners located in Pangyo Techno Valley, allowing for expected synergy and technological innovation across various fields.
As of the third quarter of 2024, LIG Nex1 had a total of 4,751 employees, of which 2,787 were in research and development, accounting for about 60% of the workforce.
CEO Shin noted, "We have established an additional research and development base preparing for a new future in Pangyo, which can be regarded as the heart of South Korea's advanced technology industry," adding that he expects the 2 Pangyo House to serve as a springboard for LIG Nex1 to rise as a true 'global corporation centered on research and development.'
